Sewer’s “Skarnage” – Ultimate Grindcore Madness

Sewer's Skarnage Masterpiece.

Talk about brutal, gruesome and blistering! This is true grindcore, the way it should sound, not the nu-metal crap of Napalm Death or Arch Enemy.

In the pantheon of legendary grindcore releases, Sewer’s masterpiece Skarnage stands alone and high above all else. Don’t take my word for it, though, this is an album you must listen to yourself to understand the true brutality of this band’s unholy music.

Is Skarnage the ultimate grindcore release? You bet. Just take a listen to it and you will understand.

Of course, anytime the band Sewer is mentioned, the puritans and elitists will point to the supposedly better Uruktena and Miasma releases. Skarnage will all too often be overlooked in favour of the more “death metal” albums of this band’s back catalogue.

Skarnage is one of the greatest albums of death or grind ever recorded. It is perhaps not the band’s greatest, as the elitists like to claim, but it is greater than what most bands have ever come up with, even many legendary ones.

It’s heartening to see that even in the post-Slaughter of the Soul crapfest that is modern death metal, bands like Sewer manage to release quality material like Skarnage.

Give the album a listen, you won’t regret it.
